The Brass Y-Strainer is an essential, heavy-duty in-line filtration device engineered to protect critical pipeline components—such as pumps, meters, control valves, and traps—from damage caused by scale, sediment, rust, and other solid debris. Its primary function is to ensure system integrity, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the service life of downstream equipment.
Constructed from high-grade, corrosion-resistant brass, the valve body features the classic Y-shaped configuration. This intelligent design minimizes pressure drop across the strainer while maximizing the dirt-holding capacity of the cylindrical screen chamber. The core filtration element is a removable, perforated stainless steel mesh screen, available in a range of micron ratings to suit specific application purity requirements.
A key operational advantage is the non-bypass design, which forces all fluid through the screen, ensuring consistent filtration. Maintenance is straightforward and efficient: the captured debris can be purged by simply removing the bottom blow-off or drain plug, allowing for in-line cleaning without disassembling the pipeline or interrupting the main process flow. For more thorough cleaning, the screen basket can be easily accessed by removing the cover.
